With the R&D studies we have carried out and continue to carry out to this day, we aim to produce projects that produce high added value and to reduce our country's external dependency. We have always carried out these studies by adopting the understanding of protecting the environment, which is one of the basic principles of sustainable development.
In order to continue our R&D activities on the method, we started 2 R&D projects supported by Kosgeb and Tübitak in 2012, titled "Drying Technologies" and "Evaluation of Pomace by Drying". Within the scope of these projects, which we started in line with the goals of effective use of natural resources and energy, effective management of waste, emission monitoring, and development of environmentally compatible products and technologies, drying technologies applied in the world were examined and it was concluded that there was not enough knowledge about drying systems in our country.
With the experimental studies, methods that will increase drying efficiency have been developed and various trials have been carried out on the R&D prototype we have produced. The following outputs that will benefit our company and our customers have been obtained in the R&D project.
- By keeping thermal losses at a minimum level, the drying process has been carried out at the highest possible efficiency.
- New formulas and excel tables have been developed that calculate the residence time of the products in the drying system depending on the specific gravity, air flow, drum cross-sectional area and wing angles of the products. In this way, drying capacity guarantee can be given in our contracts with peace of mind.
- After the R&D project, we have managed to become the first and only company that can dry 2-phase olive pomace with 75% moisture.
